Thirteen-year-old Sarah Spellings lives on the outskirts of a broken and changed Vancouver. When a landslide sweeps the Spellings house away, Sarah is separated from her father and brother. Stranded in forest, she soon discovers she is not alone.
With her friends Levvy Dwight, psychic bookworm, and Quinn Braxt, a traveller from the future, Sarah builds a treehouse village, Sassamatta Grove. Along the way Sarah discovers she has the power to harness natural forces, and use them to her advantage. The village expands and thrives, but Mister Nickel and his Parleyment cronies are plotting an invasion, and a larger threat looms: Harpminster Abbott, enemy of nature.
